We create, develop and implement comprehensive, hands-on production training programs with positive professional outcomes for all participants.
Each of the following 24-week programs provided industry-standard production training to unemployed youths. Participants learned all components of pre-production, production and post-production by producing a media program for broadcast on a TV network. All programs had a successful outcome with participants finding job placements in the industry or enrolling in college or university at the end of the program.
2 groups of 10 youth produced half-hour videos on the Toronto Lion Dance Festival in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, broadcast on CFMT (Omni 1) and distributed internationally by Telefilm.
4 youth participants with disabilities produced this 40-minute documentary, broadcast nationally on CTV and Rogers Cable, distributed to all schools and libraries in the GTA and Peel regions, and distributed internationally by Telefilm. They also built The Teresa Group’s first website.
This media program was produced in English and French through a youth production internship program, including a teacher’s guide and zine.
In partnership with the Service Canada Youth Internship Program, participants produced a multi-language video that was used as an outreach tool and debuted at the Canadian Embassy in Beijing. This video was broadcast on CFMT – 47 (Omni 1) and was distributed to schools and libraries across Canada.
This was the first current affairs TV series in North America that was produced by youth for television. 30 Co-op students in grade 12 at Kipling Collegiate (Etobicoke, Ontario) produced the series using video segments from 16 additional high schools in 5 different Boards of Education. Broadcast on Rogers Ontario.
